Program: Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Changing the Game. Speaker: Julie Rieffel, Boeing Company. Ms. Rieffel will discuss how the 787 meets the needs of the modern aerospace market — focusing on technological advances to improve fuel efficiency, reduced noise signature and reduce maintenance costs. EWeek Student Breakfast

An outreach to high school students, the EWeek Student Breakfast is on Friday, Feb. 19. The breakfast program will be followed by a series of presentations for the student guests on the different engineering careers available in the various disciplines. Tulsa Engineering Summit

Tulsa Engineering Foundatin and The Society of Women Engineers have put together an all-day summit for engineers in the greater Tulsa area. The Summit will provide opportunities to earn PDH credits, increase leadership skills, freshen general technical skills and network with others. Light breakfast in the presentation rooms and a banquet lunch are included in the registration fee.

The keynote speaker is Stuart Solomon, president and CEO of Public Service Company of Oklahoma. A link to the complete list of sessions being offered can be found on the home page of tulsaengineer.org.

New in 2010 — Engineering Career Fair (2:00 – 4:00 PM) Join more than a dozen companies who are actively hiring engineers. Whether you are actively looking for work or jugs curious about new opportunities, be sure to bring your resume. A link to the registration form is on the home page.

Fab Lab Business Summit

March 29  Fab Lab Event Fab Lab Tulsa is hosting a business summit on Monday March 29 at Circle Cinema in historic Whittier square near 1st and Lewis. There will be two information and discussion sessions running from 4:00 to 4:45pm and from 5:00 to 5:45pm. Free drinks and appetizers will be served.

The business summit is intended for all businesses with an interest in Fab Lab Tulsa, but with a specific emphasis on small engineering firms, laboratories, patent attorneys and inventors. See our website at www.fablabtulsa.com for more information. RSVPs are requested but not required

Speaker: Tom Wallace

Tom Wallace received his Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering degrees from Oklahoma State University. He is a registered professional engineer in 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

Tom has experience in the field of architectural structural design and related disciplines dating from 1975. He started Wallace Engineering in 1981 as a structural engineering firm which was diversified into structural/civil engineering in 1994. Tom currently serves as President.

Directions to Oneok cafeteria: The address for the Oneok building is 100 West 5^thStreet. The building is between 5^th and 6^th Streets and between Cheyenne and Boulder. The cafeteria is in the basement of the Oneok building. There is off street parking in the parking garage just south of the building; enter off Boulder which is one-way north. Garage parking costs several dollars. Metered street parking runs about $1.25. If you take the elevator in the parking garage (north end of garage) down to the 2^nd level you can cross UNDER 6th Street and exit the tunnel at the cafeteria entrance. OSPE normally meets in the room on the right-hand side of the entrance to the cafeteria; just before the tray pickup area.
