*KEVIN HERN Born on an Air Force Base, Kevin Hern understood from an early age that our nation is home of the free because of the brave. Through school Kevin worked a number of different jobs that taught him the extraordinary value of hard work. In his early adulthood, he served in the military and earned Engineering and MBA degrees. Kevin often shares his story of one opportunity that forever changed the direction of his life.

While moving around during his early adulthood, Kevin worked a variety of jobs including working in the Aerospace industry for Rockwell, writing computer programs to automate tasks for businesses, real estate, and even hog farming. In 1999, Kevin decided to buy the two McDonald’s in Muskogee by taking every dime that he had to his name. For months, Kevin put all that he had into making sure the two restaurants succeeded all the while coming home to a house with no furniture and a sleeping bag as a bed.

By 2012, Kevin’s hard work had paid off and now proudly serves as an example of how the American Dream can be achieved with hard work and perseverance. As the owner of KTAK Corporation, Kevin leads the operations of an organization that owns 10 McDonald’s restaurants. It employs over 400 people in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area.

Kevin has served in various regional, divisional, and national leadership positions within the McDonald’s system. He recently served 5 years as the CFO for the 3,500 franchisees that own the 15,000 U.S. restaurants. Kevin has been deeply involved in several other businesses, including community banking, technology, manufacturing and real estate development. Kevin and his wife Tammy have three children and they are members at the Church at Battle Creek.
