OSPE: Bridge Repair at Tenkiller Lake

Speaker: Michael Mills, P.E. is a structural engineer, working for Benham Engineering in the Oil and Gas Division.  He has enjoyed his 40 plus years in engineering.

Michael Mills retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers in 2013.  His many assignments include 2 years in Afghanistan, Team Leader for evaluation of the Oakland Bay Bridge, risk assessment for Corps dams in 4 districts, a patent for floating bulkhead system, and a structural specialist for urban search and rescue.  His Corps work included years of bridge inspections, preceded by building design for military installations.  Before the Corps, he designed drilling rigs and developed a system of analysis for loosely guyed structures. Michael graduated from OSU where he also worked as a student engineer for Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation and designed highways and surveyed.  He obtained his master’s degree from the University of Illinois.   And finally, he designed his first dam when he was about 13 years old.

 ONEOK Cafeteria is in the basement of the ONEOK building at 100 West 5th Street, Tulsa, OK. The building is between 5th and 6th Streets on South Boulder Ave.  Enter off of 6th Street on the South side of the building.  Parking is available in the garage at the Summit building parking 515 S. Boulder just East of the ONEOK building. Additional surface metered spots are available on the street.
