OSPE: The Tulsa Engineering Challenge

December 7, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Speaker: Jennifer Butler, PE. Manager of Civil/Structural Engineering at QPSE

The Tulsa Engineering Challenge (TECh) promotes our youth’s interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) studies and careers with an annual challenge event featuring engineering design based competitions and exhibits. The 2018 Tulsa Engineering Challenge will be held on March 2, 2018 at the Tulsa Tech Riverside Campus. Tech is a hands-on opportunity for youth 4th – 12th grades to explore problem solving, designing and construction of devices that accomplish tasks.

Jennifer graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BS and MS degree in Civil Engineering.  She is currently the Manager of Civil/Structural Engineering at QPSE in Tulsa.  Jennifer is active in the Tulsa Engineering Foundation and is the treasurer for the Oklahoma State Section of ASCE.  She has been the chair of the Tulsa Engineering Challenge for three years and likes to participate in STEM activities.  This year’s theme for the Tulsa Engineering Challenge is “Engineers Inspiring Wonder”. Jennifer is qualified to promote that theme from her experience as former instructor in the BS of Civil Technology program at OSUIT and also in 2004, she was selected to travel to Morocco as a structural engineer to build a seige tower for a Discovery Channel series on ancient super weapons.
