SAME Tulsa Post Turkey Mountain service event

November 10, 2018 @ 8:30 am UTC-6

We need you!  Society of American Military Engineers Tulsa Post’s fall community service event is scheduled for November 10th.  Enthusiastic and hard-working SAME Post members and friends of the Post are needed to help with a community service day at the Turkey Mountain, the Tulsa’s urban wilderness oasis!

We will have an important project to insure the opening of the recently expanded gravel parking lot at 61st & Elwood on Turkey Mountain.  Before opening the lot to the public, SAME Tulsa Post will need to install post and cable barrier to the parking lot.   The area (west is approximately thirty feet long and will require 30 posts).  We will use the treated wood, dome top, pre-drilled posts (commonly used on highway guard railing).  SAME Post volunteers will set and cement the posts and string half inch cable and secure with clamps.  The area is currently blocked off from the existing lot so it’s a safe place to work.  RPA will all the materials staged on site.

Attire: work boots and gloves. Need: big group of volunteers. All the participants will need to sign the River Parks’ standard volunteer waiver.   Friends, coworkers, neighbors and family members welcome. Date and time:  Saturday November 10th, at 8:30 am.  Completion of the project:  NLT early afternoon.  Meet at the Turkey Mountain parking lot at 61st and Elwood.  RSVP: NLT Nov. 8th:  Anna Childers anna.childers@jacobs.com     Water and snacks refreshments sponsored by:
