OSPE: Collaboration & Teamwork – Making the Impossible Possible

Mr. Schwab is pleased to present “Collaboration and Teamwork: Making the Impossible Possible,” a review of how local governmental entities along their professional staff, consultant and contractors worked with another to resolve an issue in record time.

Mr. Schwab is the Assistant City Manager over Operations at the City of Broken Arrow.  His oversees five (5) departments within the organization, which includes: Engineering and Construction; Development Services; Streets and Stormwater; Parks and Recreation; and Utilities which consist of water and wastewater.  Mr. Schwab formerly served as the Director of Engineering and Construction for a period of six (6) years and has just recently returned to the City in this new capacity.

 He is a native of Broken Arrow graduating from Broken Arrow High School in 1984.  He holds both a Bachelor of Science (BS) and a Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University.  He also holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma.  Mr. Schwab has been a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma since 1993 and has had a national Certified Floodplain Manager’s accreditation since 2003.  In addition, he is holds a Class A Water and Wastewater Operator’s license, as well as a Class C Wastewater Laboratory Operator license in the State of Oklahoma.

 Mr. Schwab has extensive consulting engineering experience.  He began his career as a consulting engineer in 1989 and continued in private practice until he joined the City of Broken Arrow in 2008.  He has owned and operated his own consulting engineering practice until he merged with a larger regional engineering firm.  His background is in civil and structural engineering.  He has worked on various types of public works and private improvements projects throughout his career including a couple of more notable projects: Arkansas River Dam Number 2, 9 and 13 Powerhouses and the City of Broken Arrow 20 MGD Microfiltration Water Treatment Facility.

ONEOK Cafeteria is in the basement of the ONEOK building at 100 West 5th Street, Tulsa, OK.

The building is between 5th and 6th Streets on South Boulder Ave.  Enter off of 6th Street on the South side of the building.  Parking is available in the garage at the Summit building parking 515 S. Boulder just East of the ONEOK building. Additional surface metered spots are available on the street.
