Habitat for Humanity Women Build Day

Habitat for Humanity is hosting a national event designed for women to help empower other women, National Women Build Week. This program brings awareness to the home ownership challenges specifically faced by women. The majority of the families we serve are single mother households. May 6th is the kick-off day and the Tulsa section is looking for volunteers.

Habitat is a life-changing organization that works with families that can’t qualify for a traditional mortgage and provides a path to strength, stability and independence through home ownership.  We don’t give away homes. Instead, participants must complete financial literacy classes and spend significant time in the construction of their home.  At the end of the program, they purchase the home with an interest-free loan.
