Speaker: Brian O’Connor, Director of Engineering, L3 Technologies
Brian O’Connor has been actively engaged in the Aerospace Industry for over 25 years in positions encompassing technical development, manufacturing, profit/loss, and new business responsibilities within Engineering, Subcontract Management, Program Management, Business Development, and Operations.Prior to his current position at L3 Technologies, Mr. O’Connor worked at Lockheed Martin in Orlando, FL and was responsible for the capture, technology development, and delivery of complete system solutions for Domestic and International customers. While at Lockheed Martin, Mr. O’Connor provided direct support across multiple areas including Engineering, Subcontract Management, Program Management, and International Business Development. Mr. O’Connor joined L-3 Technologies in 2005 as a Program Engineering Manager for a division that supplies advanced technology solutions to Domestic and International customers. He is directly responsible for planning, staffing, and Engineering execution within the division’s product line. In 2011, Mr. O’Connor was named Director, Army Programs, and Operations for L-3 Technologies division in Orlando, FL. In this role he assumed profit/loss responsibility for execution of the strategy, capture, development, delivery, and support of advanced system solutions that apply discriminating technology to end products. Additionally, as Operations Manager his responsibilities include Security, IT, Property Management, Shipping/Receiving, EHS, Facility Maintenance, and sustainment of Capital Equipment. His current position as Director of Engineering at L3 includes primary responsibilities in leading multi-disciplined teams of Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Systems Engineers. Brian’s education includes a BS Degree in Computer Science and a MS Degree in Aeronautics, both from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
