OSPE: NASA’s 2019 Robotic Mining Competition

NOVA Fellow, Engineering Physics/Robotics Senior – University of Tulsa. University Innovation Fellow – Hasso Plattner Institute of Design, Stanford University.   In NASA’s Robotic Mining Competition, teams design and build a robot that can traverse challenging simulated off-world terrain. During operation, the robot has to travel to the mining site, dig below a surface layer of Martian rock/ sand simulant, and excavate subsurface gravel.
